Cadence Biography

A five-piece from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Cadence are a power-pop band that wholeheartedly love what they're doing. Their songs are earnest, full of a refreshing and positive energy. In an age of asymmetrical haircuts and thumping synthesized beats, Cadence are a breath of fresh air in an deflated scene.
Guitarist Derek Hageness, bassist Derek Fassino, and drummer Adam Walker have been playing together for years and eventually enlisted singer Hannah Connolly after her massive pipes impressed the guys (think Haley Williams with the soulful touch of Patrick Stump).
The band formed in spring of 2009 and after a summer playing together, travled east to record their debut EP with Matt Robnett (The Starting Line, Four Year Strong, Hit The Lights, Valencia). The result is a shimmering sonic collection of songs that perfectly balance infectious melodies and razor-sharp instrumentation.
The self-titled EP was released February of 2010 followed by a series of local and regional shows. They will continue to spread smiles across the country during a summer tour. Be sure to catch these guys if they come through a town near you; seeing Cadence is less like a concert and more like an exercise in how the world can look when the veil of pretention is lifted, revealing a window into the hopes and dreams, insecurities and imperfections we all have, but can overcome together when we're "Not Scared".
