Cali Swag District Biography

Cali Swag District is an American hip hop group from Inglewood, California, founded by former Death Row artist Big Wy and Dairold Potts. The group is best known for the single "Teach Me How to Dougie", which debuted at Number 91 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song remained on the chart and climbed steadily during the following ten weeks. The song entered the Billboard Top 40 at Number 37 during its tenth week on the chart, and rose again to Number 31 in its eleventh week. "Teach Me How to Dougie" reached Number 1 on Billboard Heatseekers, holding the Number 2 position for six consecutive weeks before claiming the Number 1 position in its seventh week. The group is signed with Capitol Records' Checkmate Entertainment division.

The groups second single will be "Where You Are", which samples Michael Jackson's 1972 hit "I Wanna Be Where You Are". The group's debut studio album, The Kickback, is set for release on October 12, 2010.
