John and Edward Biography

John and Edward are one of the twelve finalists of the sixth series of The X Factor.

In week seven they sang: "I'm Your Man" and "No Matter What". They became the seventh act to be sent home from the X Factor after losing out to Olly Murs in the sing-off.

In week six John and Edward sang: "Under Pressure" (Queen & David Bowie) / "Ice Ice Baby" (Vanilla Ice).

In week five they sang: "Ghostbusters" (Ray Parker, Jr.) and "Rock DJ" (Robbie Williams).

In week four John and Edward sang: "We Will Rock You" (Queen).

In week three they sang: "She Bangs" (Ricky Martin).

In the Second Week they sang: "Oops I Did It Again".

In the first week they sang: "Rock DJ".

John and Edward Grimes, 17, are identical twins from Dublin, Ireland. They live with their mother Susan, father Brian and older brother Kevin. John is older than Edward by 10 minutes. They started singing at the age of five. There was controversy surrounding the two of them when they tried to sing over the other people in their group during the bootcamp auditions. Simon said that they had put the people in their group at a disadvantage and as a result the other contestants were axed after Louis championed the twins.
