Kandy Rain Biography
Kandy Rain have become the first act to be voted off this year's X Factor live finals.
The girl group - clad in sexy leather outfits - were sent packing last night after losing the deadlock to singer Rachel Adedeji.
Despite getting two votes - one from absent mentor Louis Walsh, the other from Simon Cowell - Kandy Rain had a smaller proportion of the viewers' telephone votes and were sent home.
Band member Azi Jegbefume, 25, said: "Do you know what, we could not have done any better. We were hoping everyone out there would give us a second chance."
She added: "We enjoyed every bit of the show."
Earlier, red-faced judge Dannii Minogue made a grovelling apology about her comments to contestant Danyl on Saturday night's show.
She said: "Last night was a crazy night. I just want to say sorry to anyone I may have offended last night with my comments."
Simon - who is Danyl's mentor - added: "There is never a live show, particularly this show, without a bit of drama."
Meanwhile, last year's winner Alexandra Burke got back to her roots last night - performing on the X Factor stage where her career began.
And singer Robbie Williams, 35, wowed the studio audience with his performance of comeback single Bodies.
The former Take That star - who has sold 55million records - was acting as mentor to the wannabe pop stars as they faced the public vote for the first time this week.
Speaking after his comeback appearance, he said: "I loved it, I loved it, great audience - what a fantastic audience."
