Kelly was born in Germany and Kamille in Hawaii, polar opposites on the globe. They were drama majors at S.F. School of the Arts and studied for eight years at the S.F. Conservatory of Music, including music theory, composition and classical voice training. As Kelly points out, “If you have a strong classical foundation, you can do virtually anything in music.” Kelly and Kamille graduated with highest honors from USC’s Thornton School of Music, and Kelly went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Music. Initially they could have been lured in different directions. Kelly was an olympic development level soccer player and Kamille was winning dance competitions and singing classically—she was even teamed with Josh Groban to perform at numerous high profile entertainment industry events by Grammy-winning producer David Foster, who says of Kamille: “Kamille is one of those singers only found in rare air. Her voice is magical, thrilling, and, most impressively, mature well beyond her years. Her future is extremely bright, and soon the whole world will know about Kamille.”
Kelly (lead vocals, harmonies, keyboard) is the yang and Kamille (lead vocals, harmonies, guitar) is the yin, and together this powerful sister duo writes, sings, produces and performs their deeply stirring, rich sound that is resonating with the core of the pop market, while striking a chord with the country demographic. Their sophisticated, hip, layered music is evolving as they do. And…Karmina has only just begun.
