Paloma Faith Biography

Paloma Faith (born Paloma Faith Blomfield) is an English singer and actress. Her debut single, Stone Cold Sober, was released in June 2009 and entered the British charts at number 17. The accompanying video was directed by the British music video director Sophie Muller. Her Second single 'New York' is released on 13th September and her album Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful? is due to be released on 28 September 2009. Her music is influenced by soul and jazz and her singing style has been compared favourably to that of Amy Winehouse and Duffy. As an actress she played "Andrea" in the film St Trinian's (2007); she also appears in Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009). The backing track for the latest (June 2009) UK TV advert promoting sensible drinking which goes with the motto, "You wouldn't start a night like this so why end it like this" is from a song by Paloma Faith called, I Just Wait.

In June 2009 she performed a live set for BBC's 'Radio 2 Introduces...'. She gave an interview with the station's host, Dermot O'Leary. "Stone Cold Sober" debuted at #17 on the UK Singles Chart. She will be performing at numerous festivals through out the summer as well as a UK tour. She recently signed to Epic Records.
