Ricky Lamar Hawk, better known by his stage name Silentó, is an American rapper from Conyers, Georgia. He is currently a senior at Redan High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He is best known for his debut single "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)".
His debut single "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)" was released on his YouTube channel on January 26, 2015. Over the course of one week, the single, made with Bolo Da Producer, racked up over two-and-a-half million U.S. streams. In April 2015, he was signed to Capitol Records that released the track as a single with an accompanying music video. The song now has reached over 90,000,000 views on youtube and has over 14,000 youtube dance videos made based from this song. It has peaked at number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100. On June 28, 2015 Silentó performed at the 2015 BET awards, alongside the cast of the show Black-ish.
